Yap Kwong Weng is the Chief Operating Officer of Parami Energy Group in Myanmar. Prior to this, he was Deputy General Manager of Jebsen & Jessen-Pun. Before entering the private sector, he served in the Singapore Armed Forces and held positions of Platoon Commander and Leadership Development Head in the Special Forces. He was a graduate of US Navy Seal / BUDS Class 237. As a non-profit leader, Kwong Weng was the former Secretary General of the United Nations Association of Singapore where he developed key international programs; later to raise awareness for the UN Millennium Development Goals, he trekked 100km across the Taklamakan Desert in China. In Cambodia, he is the Country Chair of Global Dignity, a non- partisan organization founded by the Crown Prince of Norway HRH Haakon.

He received a BA in Communication from State University of New York at Buffalo, an MBA from the University of Manchester (UK) and a Master in Public Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. Kwong Weng was named as one of the ’25 Young Outstanding Singaporeans’ by Junior Chambers International in 2011, Rotary Peace Fellow by Rotary International, and Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.
